This lengthy (and densely written) book contains 5 intertwining stories which are connected by the pursuit of the ultimate perfume, eternal life and true love. It took a while to see where the tale was going but managed to be very engaging with a neat conclusion. Exhilarating writing. (48 words)

Thought provoking, engrossing, insightful, frlghtening. This is a spectacular book set in a very near future London where a catastrophic terrorist attack on a Chelsea/ Arsenal derby profoundly affects the lives of one mother who decides to tell her story to Osama in a letter. Requires concentration but brilliant. (49 words)

It's rare that a "techno-thriller" is anywhere close to accurate in technical terms but this story of a computer program taking over the world is actually founded in reality. Well written and exciting we follow the story from all sides as a dead programmer's gradually takes apart the economic world. (50 words)

When Holly's husband dies the letters he leaves her help lead her to a new life. Soon to be a major movie, this chick lit is original in its premise and did keep my interest but Aherne is not yet on a par with fellow Irishwoman Marion Keyes. (48 words)
