Fun for a Saturday morning, inventive premise, thoroughly likeable characters but lots of 'fantasy violence' so not for those who don't fancy seeing a swing ball pole impaled through a middle aged stock broker type. (35 words)

Very difficult to review in 50 words. Firstly it is very bloody, not for the faint hearted, secondly it is not really overly evangelical, I had feared that would put me off. Overall, glad to have seen it and fairly certain that I never want to see it again. (49 words)

Adam Sandler has a formula which he sticks to rigidly. The only variant in his movies is the leading lady and in this case he works with Drew Barrymore again. Only a good thing, but I am slightly obsessed. Some good moments and feel-good ending make this a fun choice. (50 words)

Not being a zombie fan should not stop you seeing this very funny British movie. Simon Pegg has done some excellent stuff on the TV (Spaced, Black Books, Big Train etc) and this continues the trend. Funny, extremely gory and a who's who of British sitcoms. Well worth a look. (50 words)

I am not sure I have heard a bad thing about this Coen brothers effort. It is meant to be a commentary on nineties cynicism compared to sixties freedoms (I am told) but it just didn't work for me. I like most of their other films, but this well... Dude (50 words)

Lots of fun big screen version of the 70s series. Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller are well cast and Snoop Dog as Huggy Bear is inspired! Far fetched plot and lots of car stunts mean that this lives up to its small screen origins. Well worth a look. (48 words)

Boring story, way too long, full of B-listers. Don't bother. (10 words)

You won't have great hopes for this Chris Rock self penned, directed, produced and acted effort. Unfortunately it provides even less. For a movie which professes to be a comedy I didn't laugh once, instead I was left open mouthed at the crass "humour" of a one joke fool. (49 words)

For those in the UK, once you get past Mike from Neighbours (Guy Pearce) being an LA cop (and you should pretty quickly!) this is a cerebral whodunnit. It benefits from a second watching as I certainly missed several bits of the story. One of Russel Crowe's few good films. (50 words)

An extremely interesting and well-made examination of race, war and the conflict between humanity and the "greater good". Probably John Woo's most thought-provoking movie, with perennial favourite Nicholas Cage putting in a superb performance. A good performance from Whitehorse (Roger Willie) one of the Navajo code talkers from the title. (50 words)
