This 'thought provoking' rom com starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughen had a fair few laugh out loud moments - often in jokes for mums - but failed to light my Christmas tree. The leads are likeable, the supporting cast quirky but it lacked originality. Fun but nothing new. (49 words)

An excellent movie charting several viewpoints of the same terrorist attack and assassination attempt on the President of the USA in Spain. Each viewpoint builds on our understanding of what is happening. Brilliant acting from Dennis Quaid and Forest Whittaker. This film had me on edge right through! (48 words)

This highly rated film failed to light by oil-fire. Daniel Day-Lewis plays an 1890's self-made prospector who buys a family farm and strikes oil. He has to deal with the fall-out on the village and its evangelical people. Ultimately, I didn't feel anything for any of the characters. (48 words)
