You will have seen the Blue Man Group (the baldies with blue heads) on some ads. I hadn't realised they did music as well but it's a surprisingly good combination of rock and dance. With vocals supplied by guests it's used for their shows but can stand on it's own. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I’ve enjoyed listening this album in the background, but can’t help but think that this brilliant voice has been backed up by songs that are a bit tame. Keen to hear her next album though. (35 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Maybe I was looking forward to this too much but it is not as good as Original Pirate Material. The first half of the album isn't great but it does get better for the last six songs. Standouts are "Fit but you know it" and "Dry your eyes". Not Bad. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I love this band, and love this album. The more I listen to it the more it grows on me, and having seen them live last year confirmed my suspicions that they’re currently one of Australia’s best alternative/indie bands, and that Paul Dempsey is a brilliant and under-rated songwriter. | 0 Comment(s)Never heard of these guys before, but the album is quite catchy, with a couple of strong tracks at the start. It reminds me a bit of Train, and I could easy listen to this one over and over again. (40 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This intimate live recording exposes Jeff Buckley at his best. Alone with a guitar in a New York cafe, he combines his own material with covers and jovial ad-libbing. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but his vocal range is amazing and this posthumous release does his memory justice. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Saw them live recently in London when they were touring on the back of this latest release. It comes with the trademark combination of big guitar riffs and Bernard Fanning’s wailing and hollering. A little more commercial than their older releases, but nevertheless growing on me after a few listens. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Sounding like Elton John on a funk trip this would not normally be my sort of music but it is all so unashamedly upbeat and happy that you can't help liking it. Whether they will survive beyond this is questionable but for this one album everything falls into place. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Some good, plain Australian rock. It doesn't try to be anything else and because of that is a must have album for when you are just looking for guitars, drums and classic riffs. You'll already know Are You Gonna Be My Girl, the rest is more of the same. (49 words)
