Ok, anyone into jazz hates Jamie Cullum. Is he that bad though? The piano work on "I Get A Kick Out Of You" is superb. Some arrangements and original songs are excellent. Cullum can play, write and sing well, he simply chooses not to for much of the album. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)The third solo album from the former frontman of Husker Du and Sugar. Bob writes thoughtful songs here ('Thumbtack' and 'Any Time Between') and some really angry rock songs ('I Hate Alternative Rock' and 'Egoverride'). The album is difficult to listen to but good in short bursts! (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This is a potted history of the Dead Kennedys. Left-wing punk rock from the 1980s espoused by frontman Jello Biafra gives us classics like Holiday In Cambodia and California Uber Alles. The American military industrial complex and its relationship with the UK is explored and is still surprisingly relevant! (49 words)

Standouts include Winding Wheel and Amy. We saw him live in early 2001 (Leicester Y-Club) and he played for for over 3 hours - dedicated to his art! (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)A silly, fun record for those whose rebellion stretched to the lengths of 'killing their television'. The NADs had 2 bass players and 2 fantastic albums of indie-pogo-tunes. This was their first album and is great! Grey Cell Green, Your Complex and much more (of the same). (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)The first release by the Boo's who later flirted with chart success with 'Wake-Up' and recorded the 'intentional classic', 'Giant Steps'. Ichabod & I contains a shoe-gazing classic, 'Kaleidoscope'. I crahed my mum's car to this and still have twinges of guilt when I listen to it! (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)There's not a bad song on this, the best album released by James. Despite its 1992 vintage, the songs have not dated at all - 'Sometimes' is beautiful. Other stand-outs include Say Something and Out To Get You. Despite dodgy, flowery, baggy T-Shirts, James helped define the early 1990s! (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This accessible 1992 album saw the Youth move to Geffen Records, where their musical nephews, Nirvana were signed. The album gives the expected feeback a-plenty, but also some memorable tunes in Wish Fulfilment, Chapel Hill and On The Strip - memories of being 16 and Angry, Very Angry! (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This 1997 forgotten classic has some real beauts! Sleep On The Left Side, Brimful of Asha and When The Light Appears are all great. If you like the fusion of dance and indie pop, this is a must have. (39 words)
| 0 Comment(s)The greatest best-of album ever made. With classics like Famous Blue Raincoat, The Partisan, Suzanne and Sisters Of Mercy, it is beautiful from start to finish. Without doubt this is the perfect intro to L Cohen's many, varied and patchy albums (albeit, it was released before Everybody Knows!). (48 words)
