This character led sequel, full of stylised action sequences and stunning sets, tells the story of Holmes and Watson against arch foe Moriarty. Stephen Fry's Mycroft Holmes adds both humour and gravitas but the female supporting roles are underused and one dimensional. Lots of fun. (45 words)

But she did. And it was a perfectly adequate chick flick. Saunter, don't run, to sky box office if you need trash or, even better wait for film 4. Btw it was SJP and she was SJP. (37 words)

This epic finale to the spectacular film series lives up to all expectations. The amazing special effect are nevertheless upstaged by the emotional conclusion of many strands of story. Cliched, but it made me laugh and cry, (and I knew what as coming). True to the book and brilliant. (49 words)

It was always going to be difficult to top the first Hangover movie and so it proved with the sequel set in Bankok. This cruder, more incredulous 'romp' sees the Wolf Pack encounter monkeys, lady boys and tattooists to comic effect but doesn't deliver on laughs. Amusing enough (48 words)

While the lead in this Batman sequel is technically Christian Bale, the star is the late Heath Ledger, his oscar not the sympathy award I had feared. The atmosphere is dark, the violence graphic, the love story tragic. It is a fabulous fantasy, action, drama movie. (46 words)

Sammy the green back turtle goes on a huge adventure, making friends and coming into contact with humans on a worldwide journey to find his mate Shelley! Some of the effects were clearly designed for the 3D version but my little girl still loved it on the 'big tv'! (49 words)

Well, wh wh wh where to st st st start! Colin Firth is spectacular in this 'buddy movie' about the king and his speech therapist. A great Brit cast and a thoroughly likeable royal family. Well worth all the Oscar hype. (41 words)

Friendless Peter goes out to prove to his new fiance that he can make man friends and ends up hooked up with Sydney, the aged adolescent. They have lots of fun but a fall out, leading to a final scene reunion that plays right into the bromance stereotype. OK. (49 words)

I loved this as a kid, loved re-runs on TV but had never seen it on the big screen. While the glimpse they offer of 2015 is a bit fanciful, otherwise it has stood the test of time. Turns out I love it on the big screen too! (48 words)
