I can't believe it took me so long to see this movie - it lived up to all the hype. The premise of disfunctional family takes road trip to youth beauty pagent doesn't in any way describe how poignant, thought provoking and downright funny this is. Excellent individual performances. (49 words)

I was pleasantly surprised with this superior chick flick. Based on the premise 'always the bridesmaid, never the bride' the story revolves around Jane who organises everyone elses weddings but has no love life of her own, until now! Not as funny as the Wedding Planner but enjoyable nevertheless. (49 words)

An interesting 'film noir' in which a student (played by 3rd Rock's, Joseph Gordon-Levitt) finds his ex-girlfriend dead. As he investigates what happened and seeks revenge for his lost love, he becomes immersed in the local 'high school' gang and drugs scene. Dark, bad sound but very engrossing. (48 words)

Despite the fact that this was a fairly average movie, based, albeit very loosely, on a fairly average book, it still managed to keep me and the rest of the cinema blubbing from beginning to end. Letters from beyond the grave help young widow Holly move on with life. OK (50 words)

My daughter's description of this film? "Man opens his eye and closes it again"! Thankfully there was more to this true story about the French editor of Elle who suffers a massive stroke and then struggles to communicate using only one eye. Moving and engaging if a little slow. (49 words)

This humour horror film is quite good, it reminded me in parts of Shaun of the dead the best part has to be the spine ripping and actors playing the rather dim people who keep returning to the de-faced farmer. The northern actress added humour, one I'd watch again (49 words)

An excellent movie based on people jumping from place to place to battle against evil and the tale of a man finding his destiny whilst keeping the woman he loves, worth watching (32 words)

Never, in all of my life, have I seen a film which was so badly made as this shocker. Gore Verbinski should be ashamed. The acting is wooden, the overly-complicated storyline does not hang together and no amount of special effects will cure this film's problems. Utter pap. (48 words)

This is my film of 2008! What a funny, thoughtful and honest movie. A 16 year old high school student gets pregnant and decides to have the child and allow it to be adopted. We watch as this intelligent girl deals with the fall out. Amazing soundtrack too! (48 words)

This well adapted story of the possible Loch Ness Monster gives you hope and inspiration, with the war in full swing the errors made by various men in the plot and the young boy searching his life since his father's death, a good plot & film (46 words)
