Jim Bob is ace - his songs on this album are as clever and wordy as any of his Carter USM hits. Standouts are Battling The Bottle and God's Blog. As if this isn't enough, Jim is touring with Carter agin in November!! (43 words)

It's 20 years since The Wedding Present released this, their debut album and every song remains strum-tastically wonderful. They serve up indie-pop songs almost exclusively about failed relationships. 'Everyone Thinks He Looks Daft' and 'Shatner' are stand-outs but there is not a single dud to be had here! (48 words)

Any new Foo Fighters album is cause to celebrate and it's up to Grohl et al's usual high standards. There isn't quite that standout track like previous records, so far I'd say The Pretender (first single from the album) is pretty good. I'll keep listening and probably change by tomorrow! A classic English Indie rock band with some very good pop hooks. This 2005 debut album doesn't have a duff track on it which in itself is pretty incredible but with standout tracks like So Here We Are to top things off it's a must listen overall. (47 words)

With perfect seats at this amazing stadium, all 17 bands looked good. Whilst the concert itself had dubious green credentials, the artists all seemed to genuinely care. Stand-out performances from Foo Fighters, Madonna, Snow Patrol, Keane and Black Eye Peas made for a memorable day. Now to the energy-efficient lightbulbs... (50 words)

Williams claimed this was the last night of his last tour and, if so, we were a fortunate few. This entertainer was, in a word, brilliant. He sang many favourites including Music to Watch Girls by and Call Me and his fabulous band made this a night to remember. (49 words)

A collection of 40's.50's jive, boogie/woogie, swing, rock and rythym music suited to dance. It has a real catch with favorites like "Puttin on the ritz", "my heart belongs to daddy" and "boogie woogie bgle boy" and many more, for a Suffolk based band I give a high five! (49 words)

I don't often buy singles but these two by British band The Shakes are well worth a listen. Liberty Jones has an early Beatles sound allied with a pop-y tune and some nice guitar. I Want a Better Life is a standard indie-pop track but entertaining none the less. (49 words)

Pretty standard dance / pop from Australia but worth having a look at for a couple of really nicely sampled tracks... Voodoo Child uses Pump It Up by Elvis Costello to great effect while Watching You takes the famous riff from the 1979 classic My Sharona. (46 words)

She may look terrible but Amy Winehouse has a voice to die for. The deep soulful melodies and fifties throwback tunes are wonderfully put together by Mark Ronson the super producer. If you had to check out only one song I'd go for Rehab. Superb. (45 words)
