Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the slightly long sequel about drug cops in Miami fighting a host of bad ass Russian and Cuban gangsters over $100 mil and lots of ecstacy hidden in corpses. Requires no effort. (38 words)

Not for the easily offended, this alternative look at the life of an in-store santa has moments of grossness and moments where it is just over sickly. Billy Bob Thornton shows his class and the supporting cast are an eclectic mix. This funny film is not just for Christmas. (49 words)

Okay...a kung fu movie without kung fu...with ping pong instead. Christopher Walken plays the 'bad guy'and Maggie Q the love interest. They may not have read the script. I suspect that this would be funny if I was 15 and lobotomised. Find in Morrisons' under £3 bin. (47 words)

The first 'business' book I think I've read, but I couldn't resist picking it up on holiday. Pretty compelling stuff too, charting the rise of BA's low cost upstart through to its rather sad sale to Easyjet. For corporate non-fiction, I enjoyed this and read it in two days! (49 words)

Travolta and Jackson back together is a good start. Unfortunately it does not continue. A confusing and unoriginal murder / romance / action / any other genre you'd like to add where Travolta is trying to track down the killer of an Army sergeant. The plot just does not work. (50 words)

Not a camp villain in site, this new version of the classic franchise takes itself very seriously. And it all comes off well, the darker look at Batmans motivation works well and the training and gadgets are all just close enough to reality to keep the story going. (48 words)

Where the original was original, the sequel's just a rehash of the same jokes (but less funny), the same story (with worse plot and characters) and an enourmous number of cameos. The only reason to watch this is for the Uma Thurman eye candy and The Rock playing the fool. (50 words)

Jack Black and Mos Def play 2 characters who work in a Harlem thrift video rental store. Due to a magnetic 'incident', all the video tapes get wiped and they set about filming their own versions as a money-spinner. A quirky film about community spirit. Jack Black is ace! (49 words)

I found this book invaluable. It offers various pointers on how to find your calling in life, working in a profession or area you love. Quite unlike other books in it’s genre as it is a breeze to read, and offers many references for those who want to dig deeper. (50 words)

This well animated movie will keep the kids entertained I found it rather silly and boring, based on Bees making honey, driving cars! having one job for life and of course falling in love. Not sure I'd bother watching it again but the one line did make us all laugh (50 words)

Purchased in the vain hope that Belle & Sebastian could recreate the genius of their early work (If You're Feeling Sinister), this album has moments of joy (I'm A Cuckoo) and moments of baffling mediocrity. Stuart Murdoch has a lovely voice which lifts all the songs he sings on. (49 words)

Another great release from the former frontman of Ben Folds Five. It’s a great collection of catchy tunes, with some lovely melodies and vocals. There is no doubting his song writing ability and skills as a pianist. I guarantee you won’t stop playing this for weeks. (46 words)

What a great release. The first disc contains ballad-like material, with the second moving up in tempo with a fusion of jazz, rock and alt.rock styles. His versatility has always shone through in his recordings and his live performances, which I had the pleasure of seeing a few years ago. (50 words)

With an impressive cast of English comics (standup and actors) I think we should be entitled to expect a lot. Instead it is the same old formulaic sports movie with the bad boy coming good in the end. Some funny moments but nothing new here. (45 words)

The third, and I guess final, episode of this Wesley Snipes vehicle i even worse than the second with a new comedy sidekick and formulaic fight scenes. The story such as it is doesn't hold together, the acting is bad. Thank God we won't be seeing more of this. (49 words)

A classic English Indie rock band with some very good pop hooks. This 2005 debut album doesn't have a duff track on it which in itself is pretty incredible but with standout tracks like So Here We Are to top things off it's a must listen overall. (47 words)

If you already have one of the many Dylan Live CDs available, this isn't a must, but a great listen in any case. It has the usual classics over two CDs, and reveals an upbeat Bob, who happily jokes with the audience between songs, a quality rarely seen these days. (50 words)

The third solo album from the former frontman of Husker Du and Sugar. Bob writes thoughtful songs here ('Thumbtack' and 'Any Time Between') and some really angry rock songs ('I Hate Alternative Rock' and 'Egoverride'). The album is difficult to listen to but good in short bursts! (47 words)

Bob played half this set acostic and half electric. Some of the songs came from his latest offering 'Body of Song' but the majority were from his awesome back-catalogue of solo and band work. Highlights included Hoover Dam, Makes No Sense At All and Wishing Well. Great musician! (48 words)

This is a wonderful album from the former front-man of Sugar and Husker Du. Bob switches between his new-found passion for dance/electronica ('Shine Your Love Light Hope') and his more traditional punk-rock heratige (Paralysed) and each song draws you in. His best work since Copper Blue! (46 words)

This is a reissue of a 1965 recorded stage production of American Jewish comedy - the self-parody and humour are quite simply genius. Many an old joke receives a reworking here. Stand-out skits include The Jury ("the lovely Mrs Finklestein")and Conversation In A Hotel Lobby. Funniest CD ever! (48 words)

This mockumentary upset the Kazakh Government -it's not difficult to see why: "This is Urkin, the town rapist. Naughty, naughty!". The portayal of Kazakh men as racist, backward misogynists is designed to shine a light on the very real prejudices that exist in the USA and is incredibly funny. (49 words)

This collection of rants and raves from Boris covers political, general and personal topics. Some of the material gets a bit boring at times (EU politics particularly), but overall it's a good read. Despite what one might think of his views, he’s quite a character, and he writes extremely well. (50 words)

Willian Shatner and James Spader star in this comedy drama set in a top Boston lawyers office. Haven't we seen this before with Ally McBeal? Well yes but there are enough differences and the lead characters have roles strong enough that there should at least be another season to come. (50 words)

Terry Gilliam doesn't think like the rest of us, he operates on many planes at once. Brazil is superb on all of them. Jonathan Pryce plays a government clerk in a 1984-like world he battles against the system to get his freedom. Does he win? You decide. Great supporting cast. (50 words)

Incredible, from start to finish, mixing heavy melodic guitars with the clear, ranged voice of frontman Ben Burnley. Highlights include the entrancing 'Dance with the Devil', and the agressive 'Had Enough'. Their third album release shows a matured band that still has so much more to unleash. (47 words)

An interesting 'film noir' in which a student (played by 3rd Rock's, Joseph Gordon-Levitt) finds his ex-girlfriend dead. As he investigates what happened and seeks revenge for his lost love, he becomes immersed in the local 'high school' gang and drugs scene. Dark, bad sound but very engrossing. (48 words)

A wonderful, colourful remake of Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice. Gurinder Chadha brings Bollywood to the world with fantastic acting, costumes and dancing. The storyline is, of course, predictable, but that really doesn't matter - the film is a spectacle and made me smile throughout. (45 words)

Well, I never thought I would say this but Jim Carrey is very funny in this film. He is endowed with all of God's powers and comedy ensues. The plot itself is fairly predictable but for once Carrey's overacting works. Jennifer Aniston is fairly anonymous and Morgan Freeman is God. (50 words)

This was one of those novels that you can’t stop reading. This take on South London suburbia is superb, with parallels drawn to the city and abroad, all told through the adventures of Karim, son of an Indian immigrant. This was Hanif’s first novel, and it’s a classic. (48 words)

This Cohen brothers all-star caper includes Clooney, Pitt and Malkovitch among it's cast and, whilst full of quality, didn't quite live up to my expectations in the same way that, for example, the Cohen brother's Big Lebowski did. A dark comedy that's worth a watch but not Cohen-tastic! (48 words)
