| 0 Comment(s)The incredibly funny weblog of a UK based called centre manager. It has undertones of The Office but is far more vitriolic. (22 words)
| 0 Comment(s)the ixus is just tiny, it fits in the palm of my hand and has a 3.2 megapixel resolution, over twice as good as my old fuji. it also makes use of sd for its storage which makes life extremely easy for transferring files around. (45 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Billed as a rom-com, I found little humour and more than a pinch of sadness in this subtitled film of a group of Lebanese hairdressers in Beirut. Affairs, senility, sex before marriage and other neuroses to boot are the sub-plots here. Well filmed but far too worthy for me! (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This relatively short novel was a great debut by one of America's best-known horror writers. The story of Carrie and her high school ordeal is unravelled in the context of her orthodox upbringing, adding an eerie feeling to the dramatic climax on Prom Night. A great read. (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This Heath Ledger vehicle should be called Casanova Light! Ledger plays the famous lover and, while it's obvious why this movie didn't break box office records, it's amusing - but expect a farce and nothing more. Jeremy Iron's inquisitor character is well observed. Enjoyed mainly for the views of Venice! (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I was surprised by the blonde Bond but quite a good film, not the usual "he just gets the girl" bond film, but I still prefer the Timothy Dalton & Roger Moore personally, but saying that the car chases & film lived up to expectations, worth seeing. Generally good. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)James Bond returns and Daniel Craig is perfect for the role! The film has a baddy with a funny scar on his face, a Bond Girl with a funny accent but most of all, it has a plot and not too much product placement! Great escapism and thrills! (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Simply the most awesome fusion of live action and special effects. Watch this and realise just how far Hollywood has to go before they catch up with Japanese film makers. Perfection. (31 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Tom Hanks plays an FBI agent chasing Leo Di Caprio, a 16 year old conman, who steals over $4 million by cashing fake cheques. Spielberg is on fine form as he recreates 60s America flawlessly and brings us an unsentimental yet still entertaining Christmas movie. (45 words)
| 0 Comment(s)A film which falls into the "so bad it's good" category. The story makes no sense, the acting is appalling and the deliberate jokes aren't funny but even with all of that you just find the time flying away. Berry half-naked throughout probably helps with this. Definite Saturday popcorn flick. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)A very sweary Luke "Bros" Goss plays the eopnymous Charlie, a 60s London gangster contemporary of the Krays. Exceedingly violent, over the top swearing and very poor acting make this a film well worth steering clear of. Having recently seen Layer Cake this is such a disappointment. (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I`m refering to the Gene Wilder version here. My kid loves this and gives me an excuse to have an hour and a half nap on the sofer with her as she thinks I`m still watching it. This is worth five stars in itself. (44 words)
| 0 Comment(s)All of the usual for a Kevin Smith moview - Affleck, Jay & Silent Bob, vast amounts of swearing, great dialogue. A departure from his previous, no story efforts to try love. Affleck falls for a lesbian and has to convert both her and his best friend to the idea. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Steve Martin is Steve Martin, all the kids are cute and there is havoc but it's fun. (17 words)
| 0 Comment(s)It's 2027 - the world's population has become sterile. Anarchy is around the corner in an England where refugees are treated with Nazi-like measures. Clive Owen's character has to get a 'fugee woman to safety. She is the only pregnant woman in England. Bleak and tense. (46 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Set in England in 2027 where all people are infertile we follows Clive Owen as he tries to help a pregnant woman escape, what starts as an interesting study on controlling government changes into a top class chase movie. Some superb sequences and excellent, if bleak, vision of the future. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)In today's world of constant bad news and images, ChillArt provides DVDs of stunning film footage from exquisite places around the world married with original chillout music to form soothing yet stimulating experiences. I think ChillArt adds colour and atmosphere to any location, and everyone should check it out. (49 words)
| 5 Comment(s)This rom com is aimed at the teen market but nevertheless has some funny moments. It does not have the high school movie genius of 10 Things I Hate About You but Hilary Duff is passable as the put upon step daughter who finds true love on-line. (47 words)
| 1 Comment(s)The amazing account of growing up with gangland life in the slums of Rio de Janeiro in the 1960s and 1970s. The film follows 5 or so of the key players and is narrated by the outsider on the inside, Rocket. Disturbing at times but a real eye-opener. (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)These post-punk teenagers are very good indeed. They are in the process of being signed by a major record label and you can hear why! Clarky Cat are influenced by Joy Division but their songs move them above teenage wannabies. 'Sightline' and 'Falling Into Place' are standouts. (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Okay, the premise is a horrid commercial pastiche of classical music. But, for me, and our seven month old daughter, this has been an initiation of sorts - see my other reviews under music! From Debussy, Tchaikovsky through to Bach ("..ahh...Bach...") and Gluck, this album is peaceful bathtime fodder! (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)If you like Smith's style you will enjoy this. Great followup to an already cult classic. (16 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Rejoining Dante and Randall ten years on from the original and little has changed, they're working in a burger joint rather than a store but the filthy comments haven't changed. The real peak of the movie is the LOTR vs Star Wars riff, but there are some other great moments. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Fronted by former Dubstar lead singer, Sarah Blackwood, this is classy, dark poptronica! Client have been described as a Kraftwork you can look at. Radio and Pornography are stand-out songs. Pleased to see that Client are managed by 'Fletch from Depeche Mode! Client are great live too! (47 words)
| 1 Comment(s)This cute and very original animation tells the tale of Flint Lockwood, wannabe inventor and creator of the amazing machine which turns water into food. Once it starts to rain burgers the townspeople bombard him with requests for favourite foods. Lots of fun but lacking much for the grownups. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Based on the boardgame Cluedo, this mid 1980s movie, which I have just found on DVD, is a complete classic. With Tim Curry in the lead role and three possible endings it is a murder mystery caper which romps along. An old favourite full of quotable dialogue and fun performances. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Manipulative, predictable but innoffensive. Samuel L Jackson plays a high school basketball coach who brings success and self respect to his young proteg es. It is overlong and the story can be guessed with your eyes closed but no film with Jackson is entirely awful. (45 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Samuel L Jackson is inspiring in this better than average tale of a coach who takes on a basketball team in a run down school, with the aim of improving academic performance as well as achieving sporting truimph. Excellent performances from the team make this very enjoyable. (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Nicole Kidman and Jude Law are lovers who survive the American Civil War by preparing for the moment when they will meet again. Fairly gory and violent but well done historical epic. Rene Zelweger provides much needed light relief. (39 words)
| 0 Comment(s)With Richard Ashcroft supporting things didn't get off to a great start but by the time Politik kicked things off the place was rocking. They did quite a long set with a quiet section in the middle. But after that things began to move towards the crescendo of Fix You. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise in assasin guise this time. A well put together action thriller which stands out for it's unusual imagery of Los Angeles and novel claustrophobic shooting style. Worth a look (34 words)
| 1 Comment(s)With the exception of the BBC news website, this is the only site I visit every day! It's a site that I utilise for work when drafting commercial contracts - the 'Web Check' page gives free access to basic information on every incorporated company in the UK - invaluable! (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Sam Rockwell stars as Chuck Barris, a game show host by day and CIA hitman by night. Allegedly based on a true story you are never quite sure where reality ends and Barris' imagination begins but it's a entertaining ride all the same. An amazing cast include Barrymore and Clooney. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)A lame duck 'mockumentary' comedy Brit-flick about a wedding magazine competition to find the 'most original' wedding. The couples who enter are, variously, tennis enthusiasts, naturists and musical theatre fans. The film charts the battle between the requirements of the competition organisers and the frankly dull couples. Pointless escapism. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)There are a lot of con / heist movies out there. This would qualify as in the premiere league of them all. Quite simply, as soon as you think there will not be any more twists, you can then be sure there'll be another twist. Good ensemble cast, great script. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This comedy about two cabaret entertainers who witness a murder and have to go into hiding as drag queens has received fairly poor reviews but was nowhere near as bad as I expected. If you like showtunes and want a no-brain movie this will suit very well. (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This is Keanu Reeves trying very hard to recreate the first of the Matrix films and failing. Not that this is a bad movie, there's just no magic. All the ingredients are there - mysticism (or religion in this case), special effects, non-sensical plot line. Not bad, just not good. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Jodie Foster tries to make contact with Aliens using a machine constructed using instructions sent from space. Does she or doesn't she? (22 words)
| 0 Comment(s)For anyone who has ever participated in ROTC there is a new blog out on Military.com that is just for the ROTC community. I really like its so user friendly all of the enrties seem really tastefull and diverse. (39 words)
| 0 Comment(s)The long-awaited 2002 follow-up to their classic 'When I Was Born For The 7th Time' doesn't disappoint. This is much more beats focused but still holds indie-crossover appeal in the likes of 'Staging The Plaguing Of The Raised Platforms'and the genious 'Spectral Mornings'. Sitar and dancefloor converge! (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This 1997 forgotten classic has some real beauts! Sleep On The Left Side, Brimful of Asha and When The Light Appears are all great. If you like the fusion of dance and indie pop, this is a must have. (39 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Fab Corrie blog for all fans of the UK soap opera Coronation Street. Funny, smart, witty, updated by fans every weekday. Includes episode reviews, previews and weekly updates. Have a giggle and get over to http://www.corrieblog.tv now. (37 words)
| 1 Comment(s)I was prepared for a formulaic buddy comedy and, while the prerequisite happy ending did materialise, this was a little above. Four couples go to idyllic island retreat to 'find themselves' and meet a variety of quirky characters. Vince Vaughan is charismatic as usual in a good team effort. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This show stands out as one of the most diverse I’ve seen in a while, covering the jazz, reggae and funk genres all at once. Backed by a talented group of musicians, Courtney had the crowd waving their hands in the air and jumping up and down right until 11:30pm. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This is a must have game. It is free roaming and you have super powers which grow as you progress. You can leap over 30 feet from the roofs of sky scrapers, lift trucks, and so much more. This is the best fun I've had on 360. (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)As long as you watch this purely for the action scenes it's fine. The acting (if you can call it that) is secondary to the uber-cool characters and the fight scenes. 100 minutes of mindless pap which is all you need sometimes. (42 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Check in your brain at the door and just revel in the sheer violence, comedy and ridiculousness of this B movie. Jason "Transporter" Statham plays a hit man who has been poisoned and can only stay alive by keeping his adrenaline levels high. Cue much fighting and stunts. Great fun. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This certainly deserved the Oscar, a film with a whole suite of characters all of who (bar one) do something which should make you hate them but the beauty of the story is that you see why they did what they did and in some cases you can justify it. (50 words)
| 1 Comment(s)Website sells stylish maternity wear and clothes including business suits, dresses, jeans, skirts, tops, trousers and swimwear available to buy online. Crave Maternity for all your formal and informal maternity clothing & apparel. (33 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Interesting idea where a corporate spy is brainwashed and planted in a competitor's firm. A very complicated script, shot in quite a different way; washed out colour when we are with the brainwashed hyper real when not. The problem is there are so many twists they almost become predictable. (49 words)
