| 1 Comment(s)A great little little Flash screen which allows you to build Wacko's face in any way you see fit. (19 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Where this theatre troupe has done Shakespeare and American history in the past with great wit and humour, this essentially slapstick show is really lacking material. There are some good one liners and the cast enjoy themselves but it's all trying to mask the lack of script. A great pity. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Inspired by the 80s tv programme but otherwise quite distinct. Has all the hallmarks of a Michael Mann film - great photography, very little dialogue, everything hyper-stylized...from the suits to the cars to the violence. Poor character development but still intriguing and entertaining. (43 words)
| 0 Comment(s)You have heard the bad reviews and assume that no film can be that bad, to some extent you would be right, there are some nice shots and some nice dialogue. But the main point of a film is the story and this is frankly shocking. It makes no sense. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Unless you were a fan of TMWRNJ in the mid-nineties you may not have heard of him but you simply have to read his "blog". Always witty, often silly and some inspired ideas. Plus he is doing some rather silly things for his next Edinburgh show. (46 words)
| 0 Comment(s)by Jilly Cooper was written in 1988 and is very much a novel of its time but is no worse for that. Set in the world of independent television, the slightly characters are well developed, if a little OTT, and the story moves along nicely. Thoroughly enjoyable escapism. (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)An insightful and amusing cartoon look at how the world would be if everyone was a robot. Voices include Ewan Mcgregor and Mel Brooks. Some pretty cute in jokes that will go over the heads of the kids (including those about 'making' a baby robot). Not bad at all. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Although I have not seen the other Rocky movies, this was quite good, not a huge amount of fighting but more about Rocky's struggle to overcome his wife's death and move on in life. Not badly written and worth seeing. Silvester Stallon, who looks good for his age. (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Pretty standard dance / pop from Australia but worth having a look at for a couple of really nicely sampled tracks... Voodoo Child uses Pump It Up by Elvis Costello to great effect while Watching You takes the famous riff from the 1979 classic My Sharona. (46 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Slow start to this comedy about two bored and irresponsible men forced to mentor troubled youth turned into a very funny feel good tale. Rudd and Scott are well cast but Glee's Jayne Lynch is a scene stealer. Well worth a look. (42 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This website is an amusing look at the world of lawyers. Each week the website brings out six 'stories' about lawyers and law firms in England. The content on any given day in the 'Community' 'Discussion' forum does rather show certain lawyers to be self-interested prigs - shock horror! (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Robert De Niro saves this movie, as an ex-cia operative who gets hired by some Irish people to retrieve a briefcase. There are a few good car chases, plot twists but nothing special. For me watching De Niro washing the dishes would be excelent (44 words)
| 3 Comment(s)Jennifer Aniston continues her post Friends failures with this story of the family supposedly behind the story of The Graduate. An interesting idea which brings some fairly amusing situations but it just doesn't hang together. Some good support performances from Kevin Costner and Shirley Maclaine are the saving graces. | 0 Comment(s)Dennis Doyle (Simon Pegg) is a bit of a loser who ran out on his pregnant wife years ago and tries to win her back. He competes for her attentions by taking part in a marathon against her boyfriend. Quite sweet and funny in places - Sunday night no-brainer. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I'd recommend this film, what a laugh with a good cast this film makes anyone feel they can achieve goals in life all you have to do is keep trying and the world is yours. The humour is very good and also good soundtrack to film, I'd watch it again. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Other reviews have described this book, about a young man dealing with a mentally ill mother and being dumped with her equally disturbed psychiatrist, as funny. While well written, I found this genuinely quite upsetting, and descriptions of the house he lived in left me wanting to spring clean. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I was given this by a friend who simply said "Watch it". Afterwards I still don't know what to make of it. How it got commissioned is beyond me as the humour is very subtle but it is well acted, clever and Bill Murray started his comeback here. (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)An amazing album (released in 2000) from the former Whiskeytown frontman. This mostly acoustic album is full of beautiful, bittersweet break-up songs. Standouts include Winding Wheel and Amy. We saw him live in early 2001 (Leicester Y-Club) and he played for for over 3 hours - dedicated to his art! (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Ryan fails to recreate the quality of Heartbreaker, in this double album of acoustic songs. His version of Wonderwall is more fun live but the albums are still better than most. Buy the album of the same name by the Kitchens of Distinction - it's much better! (47 words)
