Her doctor provides her with comfort and more and she dreams of escaping her life through her pie cooking genius. A thoughtful, funny, tear-jerking classic. Don't watch when hungry! (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Honest, thought-provoking portrayal of Johnny Cash's life, loves and most importantly music. Joaquin Phoenix impresses with dedicated, believable performance as Cash. Reese Witherspoon excels as Cash's right-hand woman June Carter, earning her Oscar with every uttered syllable, whether spoken or sung. I was so impressed I even bought the CD! (50 words)
| 2 Comment(s)James McAvoy really chose a stinker! He stars with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman as a bored office worker who is trained to become a superhuman assassin. What with the "loom of destiny" and frankly loopy story-line, no amount of special effects (and there are *lots*) can redeem this dross. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)I'm not usually into fantasy but OMG what a really compelling story. Long but due to that there is a whole world to lose yourself in. A slightly slow start and then a whirlwind of action and mystery. (38 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Stinking pile of horse manure. Does injustice to Sci-fi movies, is an almost-clone of Signs, and tramples on the grave of HG Wells. (23 words)
| 1 Comment(s)This is classic Spielberg, in a good sense. The updated story makes as little sense as the original, but story isn't what a summer blockbuster is about. We want big effects, big actors and big budgets. And all are delivered in abundance, turn off brain, engage popcorn, sit back, enjoy. (50 words)
| 2 Comment(s)Don't expect too much in-depth emotion here - cheap laughs are what this film is about. Two thirtysomethings (Vaughn and Wilson) spend wedding season each year doing just what the title suggests to sleep with as many women as possible. Amongst the childish silliness they find themselves and their loves...

| 0 Comment(s)After watching his soon-to-be-fiance pop her clogs as he pops the big question, Anderson (Jason Biggs) is down in the dumps until he meets Katie (Isla Fisher) and spontaneously proposes to her. Some great deadpan jokes and a quirky take on love at first sight. But a little disjointed. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)A light hearted romantic comedy following a guy who could not let go of his love for his dead partner. A good story following him then meeting a new lady and having support of friends along the way. Certainly worth a watch, would not hurry to see it again. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)As long as you don't expect much this is an enjoyable action comedy. Starring The Rock (an ex-wrestler) and Sean William Scott you know you are getting violence and over the top comedy. The fights are well choreographed and the baddie (Christopher Walken) suitably evil. Good afternoon viewing. (48 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Stop paying so much interest. Get yourself out of debt without consolidating. (12 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz get drunk and married in Vegas and win $3m. When sober, they battle it out through the courts to get their share of the money - but have to prove to the judge that they made a go of the marriage first. Superior rom-com. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)What starts out as an interesting introduction to quantum physics degrades very rapidly into a semi religious cult like argument about the non-existance of the God of all organised religions and why meditation will change change your life. Good to see West Wing regular Marlee Matlin and DS0's Armin Shimerman. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)the second of Celia Ahern's books about 2 friends and their lives, through marriage, divorce, Children and finding "True Love" this book is hard to follow as written in diary form and jumps around quiet a bit, story line is a little better than the first, but not fantastic (49 words)
| 1 Comment(s)A great debut novel that tracks the adventures of three migrant families in the UK spanning over three decades. The author exercises clever prose and characterisation in dealing with the cultural, moral and social factors confronting the actors in this delightful read. Was also adapted for TV on Channel 4. | 0 Comment(s)Paul Bettany displays vast amounts of charisma in this sweet, if slightly unbelievable, romantic comedy based around the tennis tournament. Kirsten Dunst is equally appealing, and slightly less saccharine than in some roles. Good support roles raise this above the average. Particularly pleasing for those familiar with London and/or tennis. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)An extremely interesting and well-made examination of race, war and the conflict between humanity and the "greater good". Probably John Woo's most thought-provoking movie, with perennial favourite Nicholas Cage putting in a superb performance. A good performance from Whitehorse (Roger Willie) one of the Navajo code talkers from the title. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Withnail and I is primarily a film about friendship. The beauty of the film is in the characters and the dialogue and the hopeless circumstances they find themselves in, and their humourous reaction to it. In my opinion this is one of the finest British films ever. Absolutely brilliant. (49 words)
| 2 Comment(s)Maybe this is just me (and from other reviews I guess it is) but I simply didn't find this funny. I can see that both Grant and McGann give great performances but there is no discernable story, and I really disliked all of the characters. Sorry just didn't like it. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)A lovely funky easy to use website with everything for the discerning amateur and professional cook/chefs alike. It's also really handy for gifts! (23 words)

Colomba - A wheat/white beer made from Maquis the famous Corsican forest of wild flowers and herbs (49 words)
