It's 20 years since The Wedding Present released this, their debut album and every song remains strum-tastically wonderful. They serve up indie-pop songs almost exclusively about failed relationships. 'Everyone Thinks He Looks Daft' and 'Shatner' are stand-outs but there is not a single dud to be had here! (48 words)

| 1 Comment(s)This intimate 1600-capacity show, their first performance in the UK for six years, was never going to disappoint the fans. With new material from their upcoming release intertwined with old classics like Even Flow and Porch, the band never let up throughout the intense two-hour set. Nothing short of amazing. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)What a great release. The first disc contains ballad-like material, with the second moving up in tempo with a fusion of jazz, rock and alt.rock styles. His versatility has always shone through in his recordings and his live performances, which I had the pleasure of seeing a few years ago. (50 words)
| 0 Comment(s)The poet and musician, Ivor Cutler, sadly died this week aged 83. He is my second favourite poet and this album makes me smile every time I listen to it. Poems such as 'An American Drink' and 'The Specific Sundry' confirm Cutler as a brilliant absurdist and wit. (48 words)
