Ryan fails to recreate the quality of Heartbreaker, in this double album of acoustic songs. His version of Wonderwall is more fun live but the albums are still better than most. Buy the album of the same name by the Kitchens of Distinction - it's much better! (47 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Purchased in the vain hope that Belle & Sebastian could recreate the genius of their early work (If You're Feeling Sinister), this album has moments of joy (I'm A Cuckoo) and moments of baffling mediocrity. Stuart Murdoch has a lovely voice which lifts all the songs he sings on. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)This is a double album which makes no sense to me. The Love Below is a superb blend of innovative tracks including the pop sensation Hey Ya. But Speakerboxxx is derivative, uninvetive rap trash. I hope that the rumours of Andre 3000 going it alone prove to be true. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Ok, anyone into jazz hates Jamie Cullum. Is he that bad though? The piano work on "I Get A Kick Out Of You" is superb. Some arrangements and original songs are excellent. Cullum can play, write and sing well, he simply chooses not to for much of the album. (49 words)
| 0 Comment(s)Bought this after hearing Tyner on radio. Unfortunately, although Tyner is a fantastic player, this is rubbish. It features real virtuosity by Tyner and drummer Billy Hart, but the attempts at experimentation simply don't gel and remind you why you didn't get into jazz earlier. (45 words)
