I love this band, and love this album. The more I listen to it the more it grows on me, and having seen them live last year confirmed my suspicions that they’re currently one of Australia’s best alternative/indie bands, and that Paul Dempsey is a brilliant and under-rated songwriter. (49 words)

First show of the UK tour at Nottingham Ice Centre showed that the band are perfectly capable of flawlessly reproducing their greatest hits and that their new stuff isn't bad either. Most were there for the nostalgia and were not disappointed. They look and sound great! (46 words)

Having several previous albums but never really getting noticed, Thirteen Tales... finally brought together everything good about the Dandy's. Atmospheric mood pieces such as Godless sit well with hard rock in Horse Pills. Unfortunately not matched by the follow-up offering Welcome to the Monkey House. Still a must have. (49 words)

Probably the most accesible of the Wedding Present's back catalogue. David Gedge warbles for Northern England and the songs are strum-tastic. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah and Swimming Pools, Movie Stars are the best songs and are great memories of a time when indie music was real indie music! (49 words)

Quite simply, the album of 2003. there is not a bad song on the album and it has not left my cd changer since I bought it. The title track and Out of Nowhere are the best tracks both having such a feel-good sing-along signature that you can't help smiling. (50 words)

Jim Bob is ace - his songs on this album are as clever and wordy as any of his Carter USM hits. Standouts are Battling The Bottle and God's Blog. As if this isn't enough, Jim is touring with Carter agin in November!! (43 words)

A classic English Indie rock band with some very good pop hooks. This 2005 debut album doesn't have a duff track on it which in itself is pretty incredible but with standout tracks like So Here We Are to top things off it's a must listen overall. (47 words)

She may look terrible but Amy Winehouse has a voice to die for. The deep soulful melodies and fifties throwback tunes are wonderfully put together by Mark Ronson the super producer. If you had to check out only one song I'd go for Rehab. Superb. (45 words)

These post-punk teenagers are very good indeed. They are in the process of being signed by a major record label and you can hear why! Clarky Cat are influenced by Joy Division but their songs move them above teenage wannabies. 'Sightline' and 'Falling Into Place' are standouts. (47 words)

I was a big Python fan when I was growing up and this new stage show brought back lots of good memories. Based loosely on Holy Grail but with healthy dollops of the TV show and Life of Brian this is an hilarious way to spend an afternoon in London. (50 words)
